Alexander Lopez, JD, OT/L, FAOTA, (Executive Board) is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the New York Institute of Technology.  He has been a practicing occupational therapist since 1997. With over 20 years of expertise in pediatric occupational therapy, Alex has expertise in pediatric physical rehabilitation and psychosocial practice. Alex is the founder and chief executive director of Inclusive Sports and Fitness, Inc. (www.isfkids.org), a science-based and research sports training facility dedicated to helping children with disabilities realize their full athletic potential.  Alex has formed a partnership with research scientists for New York Tech and human performance entrepreneurs who have expertise in the fields of medicine, neuroscience, biomechanics, exercise science, and engineering. This collaboration has led to the development and implementation of innovative and effective interventions for children with disabilities.  Research conducted at ISF in collaboration with New York Tech is focused on the impact of sensory processing, motor development, and motor learning in sports performance in children with disabilities. ISF is also exploring innovative technological applications including virtual and augmented reality to improve sensorimotor performance. 

John M. Lorenzo (Executive Board) is the founder of a local Title Insurance Agency, South Shore Abstract, Inc. (SSA).  SSA is a leading local Agency insuring residential and commercial transactions throughout New York State with a primary focus on Long Island and the 5 Boroughs. John and his staff take pride in being recognized as a Fidelity National Title Insurance Top Exclusive Agent.

John M. Lorenzo lives in West Sayville, New York, and is married to his wife of 21 years, Dyan Lorenzo.  John and Dyan have two children, Aiden and Sophia Lorenzo.  John is a dedicated member of his community and believes in giving back in life.  John donates his time advocating for his community and members. 

Anthony T. Sanseviro, Jr (Executive Board) was raised in Sayville and has lived in Bayport for the last 30 years. Anthony is a retired firefighter from the FDNY.  On retirement in 2006, Anthony joined his family’s Insurance business and is currently responsible for the sales department.

Anthony has always had a strong belief in giving back to the community. This belief has led him to serve on various boards.  Anthony served on the Bayport-Blue Point School board and is currently serving on The Neighborhood House board.   The Neighborhood House helps families who are suffering with the loss of loved ones to suicide or drug overdose.  Anthony also serves on the board of the Bayport-Blue Point Foundation.  The BBP Foundation assists those in the community who have fallen on hard times and need a bit of financial assistance to help them get on track.  Anthony is proud to be an original member of the ISF board.

Saul D. Zabell (Executive Board) is a principal and founding partner in the law firm of Zabell & Collotta, P.C., located at One Corporate Drive, Suite 103 Bohemia New York. Mr. Zabell has dedicated his career to practicing law in the areas of labor and employment law, including wage and hour litigation/counseling and department of labor resolution, employment discrimination and harassment issues, wrongful termination, personnel policy review and development, employee discharge and discipline, employment contracts, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, Executive compensation structuring, labor relations, collective bargaining and union/management issues.

Mr. Zabell practices in a variety of labor and employment related areas of the law including the National Labor Relations Act, the Federal Railway Labor Act, State and Federal Wage/Hour Laws, COBRA, IRCA, Laws against Discrimination, FMLA, ERISA and the ADA. In addition to traditional labor and employment laws, Mr. Zabell has represented clients under the Federal False Claims Act, otherwise known as Federal Whistle-Blower Law or Qui-Tam Law. He has negotiated collective bargaining agreements and individual employment agreements, as well as advised and represented employers in hundreds of grievances, mediations and arbitrations.

Mr. Zabell is an experienced litigator whose practice routinely finds him advocating and litigating on behalf of his clients before various administrative tribunals, State Courts in New York, New Jersey, Illinois and Michigan, United States District Courts, the United States Court of Claims, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the National Labor Relations Board and the United States Supreme Court.

Andrea (Andy) Sanseviro (Executive Board) is a retired product manager who has volunteered her time at ISF since 2014.  Andy began her career at a four-person software company managing its sole product – an insurance rating program.  After building the client base, Andy saw the company through a corporate sale and stayed on for five additional years before moving on to become the Director of Global Product Development at ADP (and later to spin-off Broadridge).  In addition to her product development responsibilities, Andy enjoyed the challenge of running special team projects such as a corporate wide cost reduction initiative.  Andy was also responsible for implementing new products for the Broadridge global clients.  Among the most notable of these were a product ensuring institutional investors’ compliance with Dodd-Frank regulations and another product ensuring global bank compliance with OFAC trade regulations involving sanctions against known terrorist entities.  

Andy resides in Bayport with her husband, Anthony, and their daughter, Kateri.  Anthony is retired from the FDNY and has joined his family run insurance agency.  Kateri is currently a student at Vassar College studying Psychology and Education.  Andy and Anthony joined the ISF team as volunteer board members after seeing the impact of the program on its student athletes.  Andy is also very impressed with the influence the program has on its volunteer mentors, after seeing the positive impact on Kateri as she participated as a mentor.

Joann Gustafson (Social Media Director) is a mother of 3; who has been a Special Education teacher and student advocate for a local Long Island school district for over 23 years. Joann personally understands the importance of inclusivity-as her eldest son has Autism.  As a parent, Joann is thankful for the positive community, genuine friendships and amazing experiences that are provided to the ISF members.  She is both proud and excited to bring her passion for creating meaningful experiences for students and athletes with special needs to the ISF board.  In her free time, Joann enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, baking and any opportunity to be outdoors hiking or paddle-boarding.
