Dublin Deck Summer Golf Classic

Benefitting ISF and Honoring Chuck Cabrera

Our ISF 2024 Summer Golf Classic Honoree is a well-loved local business owner, Chuck Cabrera.

Chuck was born in Brooklyn, NY, to a loving Alfredo and Judith Cabrera, who had immigrated from Colombia.  Alfredo and Judith instilled in their son the importance of working hard and helping those who need it most.   With his parents’ help, Chuck attended Iona College.  He wound up back on Long Island in 2003, where he found his soulmate, Jacqueline.  Chuck and Jackie were married in 2005, and now have two beautiful daughters, Abigail, 17, and Isabella, 14.

Chuck and Jackie were drawn to this area in 2011 through good friends who were Sayville residents.  They loved the town, but it was the Miracle on Main winter celebration that sealed the deal.  The sense of community they found in Sayville was of key importance as they set the roots for their young family.

Chuck finds limited free time as he splits his days between his many businesses (The Sayville Inn, John Scotts Surf Shack in West Hampton, The Supply House in NYC Upper East Side, Pete’s Park Place Tavern in Bronxville, and the Barnyard in Hampton Bays).   Despite these many pulls on his time; Chuck somehow still manages to give back.  Chuck is currently a board member for The Neighborhood House in Sayville.  He is also a committee member for the Sayville Chamber of Commerce for their annual golf event.  Moreover, Chuck volunteers as a committee member of the fundraising arm of the Michael P. Murphy Museum.

Chuck tells us that the ISF Gala was the first fundraising event he attended when he moved to the area.  He was overwhelmed with both the community support and the mission of our program.  He remembers thinking, “I wish I had more money in my pocket to help out.”  Chuck is reflective of the many incredible people he has met along the way.  We can’t help but reflect on the positive impact he has made on so many organizations, and we are both proud and humbled that he continues to choose ISF for his goodwill.

ISF is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization whose mission is to provide skilled science-based fitness and habilitation training that maximizes an individual with special needs’ capacity to engage in physical fitness, play sports, and participate in physical recreational activities.  Chuck’s backing has proven fundamental to the success of ISF, and we are grateful for his and Jackie’s friendship and support.
